ACDI/VOCA, an International NGO with Headquarters based In Washington lscu"enlfy advertising for the position outlined below for the Cereals Market System Development (CMSD) Activity .CMSO Is a four-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which promotes economic growth by facilitating the competiveness of the smallholder-based rice and maize value chains especially In rural areas.

Position: Volunteer Coordinator
Location: Iringa

Job Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator will provide support to the CMSD volunteer program which works with' both local and foreign volunteers. This position will work closely with the technical team to identify host organizations write SOWs will be in charge of making logistical arrangements for volunteers and be the main point of contact when volunteers are in the field. This position requires a high level of both spoken and written English due to regular interaction with international volunteers,

Key Responsibilities:

• Along with the Operations and Compliance Manager and Deputy Chief of Party. create a volunteer plan and Timeline for fielding short-term and long term volunteers throughout the CMSD Activity
• Work in conjunction with the technical team to identify host organizations for both short-term and long-term volunteers
• In coordination with the technical team and Operations and Compliance Manager. write SOWs for short-term and long-term volunteer assignments
• Act as the coordinator/contact person between host organization technical team and volunteer for all things related to the volunteer assignment. This includes before during and after the assignment
• Ensure that volunteer end-of-assignment report and volunteer certification form are completed and sent to
• ACDI/VOCA HQ before the volunteer leaves the field
• Work with volunteer to complete any expense report that needs to be completed in the field
• In conjunction with the Operations and Compliance Manager and Deputy Chief of Party. review applications for student volunteers from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA)
• Make logistical arrangements for volunteers including hotel reservations airport pick up and drop off local transportation creating welcome kits etc.
• Ensure the safety and security of volunteers while in country
• Act as a translator/interpreter when necessary
• Perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management

Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree preferably in international development, sociology, anthropology women's studies. Agriculture or other related discipline
• High level of English. both spoken and written strong communication and interpersonal skills
• At least 2 years of work experience in an office environment
• Ability to work with people from different cultures
• High level of organization skill and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
• Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and ability to adapt to new software quickly
• Demonstrated experience with computer-based Microsoft packages (Excel. Word and PowerPoint and Access)
• Proven knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is a plus
